Who inspired you to Dance?

Russell Kerr leads class in 1963, John Ashton Archive; Alexander Turnbull Library.

We have all had inspiring teachers spark the passion for dance in us. We are Interested to hear who sparked your passion and to record these memories for future generations of dancers.

The RAD is pleased to be collaborating with Anne Rowse and Jennifer Shennan on a project to develop profiles of the major teachers of dance throughout New Zealand's history. If you would like to contribute a brief entry of your own first and/or most important teachers, please complete the form below

“We are hoping to build up a historic profile of dance teachers in New Zealand — so if you know anything about where your teacher(s) trained when they were young, we would be interested to learn about that."

This data will be assembled into a catalogue and made available on the RAD website.
