Fellow of the Royal Academy - Paula Hunt MNZM
Paula Hunt MNZM, well known RAD examiner, former Artistic Director and Wellington teacher, and currently consultant to the panel of examiners, was made a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Dance at the examiners’ seminar in Wellington on 20 January. This award is the highest that the RAD offers to its teaching members and was presented to Paula for her outstanding contribution to the art of dance and exceptional service to The Academy and the wider dance community over many years. Paula’s contribution to the RAD and dance more generally through the many roles she has held, has indeed been remarkable, but the most enduring will probably be her significant creative and technical involvement in the RAD syllabi that is used today. Sincerest congratulations to Paula.
The examiners enjoyed a two day seminar in Wellington – the first in-person seminar held in NZ since 2018 as seminars and training have been provided online more recently. It was a pleasure to have the RAD’s Chief Examiner, Jennifer Hale, attend the seminar in person. Jenny also presented a session at the end of the Teachers’ Course at Summer School, to talk about examiner recruitment and answer questions generally on exams.
