RAD Centenary Summer School

This year's summer school was a roaring success and marked the beginning of the RAD's Centennial year.  Over 150 dance students and 45 teachers were involved in the two-week programme which featured a range of dance styles with both technique classes and creative/choreographic workshops.

The students' courses consisted of both technique and creative workshops culminating in a studio sharing for the grade level students and two highly professional performances in the Te Whaea Theatre.  "Thank you for a fantastic summer school - both my kids agree that it's the best one they've ever done!!!" was one parent's response.  Feedback was so positive about the various courses that we have made the decision to double the frequency of the NZ Summer School.  Instead of waiting another 4 years for the next Summer School, we will hold the next one in January 2022.

The quality of the tutors was the key to the school's success with tutors from New Zealand and abroad including: Lisa-Maree Cullum, Abigail Boyle, Mitchell Rayner, Tim Barnes, Scott Pokorny, Braedyn Humphries, Turid Revfeim, Sarah Fitzsimons, Bea Lee-Smith and Vivencio Samblaceno Jr.
