The Teachers’ Support Fund

The Teachers’ Support Fund, which is now managed for NZ teachers by the NZ office, is a discretionary fund available for discounted membership fees up to 50% to RAD teaching members who are experiencing exceptional financial hardship. Applicants must provide evidence to support their application when applying to the Fund. This may include financial records such as audited accounts, a letter from a doctor, an employer or an accountant. The following circumstances will be acceptable reasons to apply for support:

  • critical illness, impacting on earning potential
  • bereavement which has impacted on earnings
  • financial crisis in their country of residence
  • unemployment
  • impact of COVID-19
  • other financial hardship
