COVID-19 update 30 March 2020

As a result of COVID-19 and the national lock-down, the RAD has suspended all exams and other activities in New Zealand until further notice.

AEC & RAV Examinations

Exams will be rescheduled wherever possible.  Applications that have already been received will be carried over to the rescheduled exam date.  If a candidate is unable to attend the rescheduled exam, the RAD refund policy will apply.

14+ Dance Scholarship

Our preparations for the 14+ Dance Scholarship and Gala evening scheduled for 27 June at SkyCity Theatre have been put on hold.  A decision is yet to be made whether the event will go ahead or be postponed.  There will be an announcement on our website and on our Facebook page once the decision is made.

In the meantime, we will continue to receive 14+ scholarship applications but please do not make any payment as yet.  Applications already received will be kept on hold in the anticipation that the event will be held later in the year.  Whether the event will still include a Gala evening to celebrate the RAD’s centenary will be decided at a later time.

In the event of a postponement, the date of the age eligibility criteria will remain the same, and we will ensure that there are Advanced 1 exams available to enable prospective candidates to meet the entry requirement of passing Advanced 1 with distinction.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

All CPD face to face course planning is currently on hold. We will be back in touch with regards to future CPD training courses. We encourage teachers to continue with their continuing professional development by accessing the RAD’s CPD online and webinar programme.
