Solo Seal 2020

We are pleased to announce that Solo Seal, the RAD's highest Vocational Graded examination, will take place on Sunday 8 November at 3pm at Te Whaea, National Dance and Drama Centre, 11 Hutchison Road, Newtown, Wellington. Audience members are welcome. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 14 September. Members/students $20; non-members $25.

Solo Seal was introduced to the RAD's portfolio of examinations in 1928. Candidates perform three contrasting variations to demonstrate a consistently high level of accomplishment, musicality, style and presentation. They are assessed by an RAD examiner and a guest judge, who has a professional ballet background. Solo Seal will be followed by a presentation of certificates to the RAD's students, who completed tertiary level courses (CBTS, DDTS etc) at the end of 2019.
